昨日は東通りの家庭料理「ふるさと」で忘年会。参加者は出版社フリースタイルの吉田さんご夫妻、編集者の小森収さん一家、ライターの窪木淳子さん、競馬関係のお仕事などをされている日夏雄高さん、講談社別冊フレンドの副編集長・業天さん、ソニー・マガジンズの乙部さん、音楽と映画の雑誌バァフアウト！の山崎二郎さん、ウェブデザイナーの鈴木恒寛さん、グラフィックデザイナーの小嶋あずささんと僕。体調がベストではなかったが、気さくな方ばかりでとても楽しい夜だった。下北沢近辺は編集・出版関係の人が多いのかな、とあらためて思った。
写真は見えづらいかもしれないが、鎌倉通りにある下北沢成徳高校の校舎の垂れ幕。赤い文字で「祝優勝」とあり、その下に「全国私立高等学校バレーボール選手権」と書かれているのだが、小学校３年生の娘がそれを見て、「全国ってことは世界一？」と僕に言った。アハハハと笑ったが、全ての国の中で１位だと考えれば、そういうことになる。僕も子どもの頃、全国って日本のなか全部ということでなく、世界のなか全部だと思っていたことがある。よくよく考えてみたら、「全国」ってわかりにくい気もする。子どもはこういうところに「気がつく」からおもしろい。
